Who says they can't dance? A gigantic musical will invade the Paseo del Prado with citizens as the star dancers. With the assistance of choreographer Blanca Li as instructor, huge projection screens and dozens of dancers from Madrid's dance academies working as volunteers, La noche en blanco wants to get everyone out on the dance floor, if only for a few minutes.

Blanca Li has created some short and simple dance steps so easy that anyone can catch on, from tots to retirees. The choreography will include various dance styles and will take place at five different spots: Cuesta de Moyano, where Blanca will teach us how to dance while we warm up; the Nouvel Courtryard of the MNCARS museum, where we will learn to dance hip hop; Plaza de Murillo, where we will learn classical dance moves; Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo (Neptune) for Bollywood dances; and finally, Plaza de Cibeles, for disco dancing. In front of each screen, several individuals from dance academies who know the steps will mingle with the crowd to show the participants how it's done and help them get the choreography right. And finally, once the steps have been learned, all of the newly instructed dancers will meet at Cibeles for a spectacular culmination of the party night, dancing to the beats of DJ Roberta Marrero.

The choreographer, director, dancer and producer Blanca Li is one of the top international names in the dance world. A multifaceted artist with an eclectic training and working style, she has pursued a highly personal career covering a wide range of forms of corporal expression, from flamenco and hip hop to classical ballet and Baroque dances.

Actress, columnist, singer and a standard fixture in Madrid night clubs, Roberta Marrero is also a disk jockey who knows how to "work" every style, from cabaret to rave and disco music.
